Garrett, the day before I was to take my van to the shop for the hose job, one of the two big hoses on the left side of the engine compartment let go. I just went to the box of hoses I had just received from a list vendor and put the new hose on. This was on an '84.

It is not worth tempting fate with old hoses. If I had to do it again, I would have done job myself and done it when I bought the van in 1997.
