Mark, Somehow this seems to fit. I once knew a fellow who had spent more than a few years working in one of the Arab countries. There, according to him, a thief is punished by cutting off his right hand. He went on to say that the punishment is especially severe because the natives eat with their right hands and clean themselves with their lefts; flatware and toilet paper generally are not used. When he told me this, I mentioned that such an extreme penalty must make for a low rate of theft. He said no, just really good thieves. Rich
