Yeah, I know, thats why I waited until I registered my out of state vanagon so I wouldn't have to wait for a refund - what I was refering to is the ticketing of people for having tint that complies with their home state but not the state they are traveling to or thru, this is a violation of interstate commerce and at least one Judge in this country has recognized this as such - I mean the vanagon is an ideal travel vehicle, so why do they have to muck it up - If I spend 51 weeks working in one state, and one week traveling and shopping in another state, I shouldn't have to rip out my tint to be able to do so.

We have enough to be paranoid about already with headgasket problems and all the other problems our vanagons might have. And you know the way some police view VWs. Do you like the idea of them using your tint as an excuse to pull you over, search your car, and then accuse you of possessing extasy, when all they've found is a bottle of an over the counter pain pill???

I will say though, I haven't really been bothered by the police since I've bought my vanagon, a white 91. Was pulled over twice going across county after I bought it and I didn't have plates yet. I refused to let them search my car - they had no probable cause. I had the proper papers for driving, and these were also posted on the rear window. But when I had my ugly yellow 71 transporter with the bashed in front end - that was an entirely different story. Talk about being profiled.
