Far as I know you are right, you want the mixture to be a but leaner, to pull gas out as you have already pulled O2 out. Some people dial the timing back a touch to give the mixture more time to burn, given there is less o2 avail to burn it. I haven't played with all that since my air-cooled days. "Fruitlands" is name given to the region around Harvard Mass by early settlers. We dont live there any more, but I did when I chose fruitlands as a user name.
