I used Don's suggested fix with one variation. Instead of putting super glue in the hole in the gear, I put the gear down on the anvil of my vise; using a hammer and punch with a 1/4" flat end put the punch on the raised hub area that the shaft goes thru and hit the punch a couple of mild blows. Turn the gear over and do the same thing again. It's gonna fit real tight on the shaft now so you need to push the shaft thru the gear a couple of times to loosen it up. Use a small deep socket as a tool to drive the gear on and off. Reassembly is tough with the tight fit but I think the fix is permanent. One other thing, when you take the pointer off, please be careful. It's on the shaft tight and it will break. I had a junker to practice on and broke the first pointer. I never did find a sure method to get if off. Good luck!

YTom,

How did you\"fix" your odometer? What parts did you need ? Where did you find the parts?

My odometer was reset by a used while the Westy was in motion, DOA for the odometer.

Regards, and thanks,
