Subject: original keys

Several people have asked me about the original keys that Peter found. I have not seen them yet, as none of the Houston area dealers had them in stock. I do have 10 on order, however they won't be here in time for me to have at Busses Nowhere Near the Arch. If you have bought one of these from the local dealer, be aware that they are most probably steel, and you will have a good bit of difficulty finding a place to cut them, as steel takes a special cutter. Discount stores and hardware stores are generally not equipped for this. I'll post to the lost when I get them in and let everyone know the full story. If you are going to be at Busses Nowhere Near the Arch, come say hello. I'll be in the brown Westy with the Texas group, and will have full VW lock and key services available on site. Hope to see you there! Steve Sandlin www.steveslockshop.com '84 Wolfsburg Westy '79 Transporter '00 New Beetle
