Ken,

I'm big and beautiful, too so, I feel for you. Now, the magic word is Devcon MVP 33. It is the best structural adhesive I have ever used. It is not cheap. A good substitute that is generally available at hardware stores is Devcon Plastic Welder. Don't waste your time with epoxies. While either adhesive will stick your pieces back together again, you have to reinforce the repair. My map pocket split at about the center as a result of my knee pushing on it one too many times. I repaired it in place by spreading the crack and working the adhesive down into it. I cleaned up the excess then I stuck on (and clamped, of course) a 1" X 6" reinforcement strip of similar material on the inside top edge of the map pocket. The nice thing about the Devcon product is that it will also adhere a strip of sheet steel if you want to use that instead.

Rich
