<<<snip>>>> Normal oil consumption (1 qt./1500 miles. I don't consider this normal oil consumption... at 90k miles on engine mine consumes zero up to about 2500 miles... when the oil starts to break down... then it does start to burn some...<<<snip>>> Gotta agree with Bill... My van turned 116k yesterday, on the origional engine per the PO, and there is no perceptable drop in oil level, as measured via the dipstick, between oil changes. Running Castrol Synthec 20W-50 April to November, and Castrol 10W-40 dino juice November to April. Oil and filter changes occur between 3k and 4k miles. As I lack the technical and mechanical wherewithall to even remotely understand the oil pressure warning system, I can not comment on the pressure levels my van develops, and thus, I am the poster child for a oil pressure guage. :o) Alan Bosch & Phred ('88 Wolfsburg) Rochester, NY |
