155,500 miles on my 2.1. PO put new heads on at at 95k just before I bought it. No leaks, occassional sticky lifter, flashing temp light at 142k fixed by new sensor. Without jinxing myself, the van runs great, will do 80 mph if needed...wouldn't consider another car as a daily driver...it carries two bikes inside or four on the rear rack, two kayaks and a canoe uptop. My first vanagon ,an aircooled '81 was way behind this one in all repsects...IMHO. -- Stephen Steele '91 Caravelle
