I got the van started today. Tried to jump with cables, but it did not start (this is the first time my hot-start, now cold start problem was not solved with a jump) Tried banging on the starter, and it started right up. Wondering the following: 1. Does the banging on starter indicate any particular problem? (Faulty ground, solenoid or starter?) I noticed that the red and black wire going to the solenoid (and held on with a plastic connnector) seems to have some corrosion on the metal, and that what I assume is the ground (post on solenoid, wire down to starter) is caked with dirt and corrosion. TIA, Peter , His Family, and Zippy. |
