What are you considering as a failure? My buddy has two 1.9's they both blew heads last week. Both had over 180K when he got them. Both purported to never had the engine out. My 86 Syncro 2.1 had 69,653 miles when I bought it. Already had both heads replaced per PO. Of course, he did a lot of driving in the dessert climes with his AC on. My 87 GL 2.1 had 182,222 miles when the odometer broke last year. Same old engine. Same old heads. I grenaded the t-pipe once but the excessive heat caused by the incident didn't seem to bother it any. It's still going, and going, and going... |
