The hump and hollow was on the side of the tire? Not the tread? I sideswiped a curb/island while turning and a bump on the tire appeared immediately - put my spare on....

BTW, what about taking your tire back to the place that spun it, but this time video taping it - then filing a small claims case - bringing your tire into the court as evidence - and making liberal references to Firestone's "voluntary" recall and safety..... Is Sears a good corporate citizen? Actually on a lot of things Sears has one of the best return policies around.... Maybe the higher ups have bigger ears..

Saw a lady on the side of the street last week in front of the Goodyear store sitting in chair on the sidewalk and holding a sign, something about Goodyear being a ripoff.... dont remember the exact words of the sign, but it was orange.
