Yes, the question "is this trip necessary?" can go a long way toward reducing one's fuel expenditures. When riding in my wife's car, I've noticed she accellerates much faster uses the brakes more than I do. However, it is not wise to make this known to her while she is driving. Actually, she doesn't want to hear about it at all!

Anybody got ideas on saving gas AND keeping the peace at the same time?
