I don't consider this normal oil consumption... at 90k miles on engine mine consumes zero up to about 2500 miles... when the oil starts to break down... then it does start to burn some...

Your oil pressure light should have been sounding at the above levels... I think it should be coming on at 5 to 7 lbs at idle...

At the end of the 3000 mile trip idle > pressure was zero (red light came on), cruising 8 psi.

Above 2000 rpm the light and buzzer should come on at 12 psi...
