Mark ! yes, oiling your car has been on " strong" for more than fifteen years in the province of quebec, you even have specialized garages with their own oil, some that has been developed in research programs with the government and all the others...even canadian tire does it for 59.$ or so; one of the oils first or mostly used and cheap is chainsaw oil, which stick pretty good everywhere, but now you can buy the "special" one in gallons almost in any flaps, small rubber plugs for the doors etc , and do it yourself ...if you want to do a good job, you need a compressor or I guess a very good hand pump...but it is a mess in your garage. Some kids around my place do it for 30.$cdn that is 20.$us, cheap and is really worth it. I never heard anything on regulations, and cannot truly see how this could be directly related to smog ???

Some years back, people had to change their cars because of all the rust, eventhough everything mechanical was in good shape...with the oil, someone can keep a car, 10, 15 years as if he were in Arizona ??? Would that be a reason why you do not hear of oiling your cars in the States, mostly in the northern states ??? to sell more cars...But let us not be too political ! pierre a. lachance lac beauport, quebec
