It's kinda like UPS. They make so much money from major account sales, that they really don't need your money. It costs them more to let in joe schmoe off the street because they have to pay their cashiers, their stockers who make the displays, etc... the major accounts know what they want, and are in and out quick.

Actually, I really don't think they infringe on your 1st amendment rights, unless they make you wear a muzzle in their store. And I don't know for sure, but I don't think it's in Californias constitution that private businesses must provide service to everyone. But of course in California anything is possible....

Playing the devils advocate here... they are not a government institution. They are a private business, and as with all private businesses reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. If they don't feel they can make a profit off of your membership (I use 'your' as a generic, not specific to you BTW) there is absolutely no reason they should let you participate in their membership program. If you told me that I had to offer a service to you that I offer here and it was a money losing proposition I would probably laugh.

Have you ever noticed that even at major UPS hubs there is only 2-3 customer service people at the walk-in counter, and a line out the door? They make so much off of major accounts that ship K$'s that they really don't need the little guy, and make it as inconvenient as possible to discourage money losing situations.

My .02... .03 if its a house call

===== Mark Just because you have an opinion, doesn't mean that anyone wants to hear it
