Subject: Upset in Canada (Ontario) about Westy Insurance
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I am very upset at CIBC insurance. I insured my westy with them and was required to PERSONALLY pay $175 (Canadian) to have it appraised by a third party or I would not be insured against fire and theft. I went ahead and got the vehicle appraised at which point they told me (ie: after the fact) my vehicle cannot be insured because it is a recreational vehicle... even though I told them on the phone it had a fridge and stove and pop top.

Calling all Canadians... who do you insure your westy with? Can you get a "19A" policy to insure up to the appraised market value of the vehicle?

Thanks, Chris Gronski Toronto, Ontario, '80 Westy "Pokey" '87 Chevrolet Sprint 5-Door '91 Pontiac Firefly Convertible
