Subject: help '88 westy broke, revisited
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hello Everyone, This is a follow up from last week where I posted a plea for help regarding my '88 westy which died while on it's trial run before our big trip up to Yellowstone/Glacier from AZ in a few weeks. I was driving in the White Mountains of AZ when the Van slowly began to lose power (drove the last 7 miles at < 15 mph) until we reached the nearest phone where it then died and then refused to start. After an all day failed attempt to get it going myself, I had it towed to the nearest VW guy I knew of in Flagstaff (yes, it did cost an arm and a leg, thank god for Insurance). Turned out to be the Air Flow Regulator. Also a very expensive part + 3 hours labour. I am not real sure on the Labour charge (anyone know the listing for this) but anyway, "Ernie" is now ready to go I hope for the real trip. Thanks to all who offered their help!
