My '88 Westy was experiencing hesitation when cold. You would take off from a start and at about 2,000 rpm the engine would ack like someone shut it off. Flooring the gas pedal would cause it to bog but then recover. Well, I thought I'd pass on that I replaced my Temp sender II (in the thermostat housing) and the problem has (so far) disappeared. I'm not quite sure how they are related, but thought I'd post the results in case anyone else is experiencing the problem I was having.
