My 91 Vanagon has the A/C cutting in and out at odd periods. When it works it seems to cool fine. I suspect the A/C clutch or compressor relays in the left rear pillar of the body. Is there any way to test a relay - by pass it or short it out - to see if that's the problem? The dealer charges $60.00 for the AC relay so I would only like to replace a known defective part. Also eager to hear the list reaction to Autofrost R-406a refrigerant as replacement for R-12. 5-10 degree cooler air would really help in Houston, TX. Are some of the OEM parts replaced in the conversion? Thanks Tom Callan 91 Carat Houston TX |
