what if you turned the entire system around so it was facing the front of the van and ran the exhaust up the bottom of the van to a 180 then muffler then out in front of left rear tire... i don't know how it would work on the air-cooled vans with the heater pipes running the lenght of the van, but it works fine on my water cooled... it's VERY quiet now. > pipe instead).
