I use Boiled Linseed Oil on all reachable metal parts. Every time I disassemble something, before I put it back together, I rub on some linseed. I'm a woodworker, and have always used this treatment on tools. The beauty of boiled linseed oil is that it doesn't stay sticky forever, it kind of skins over like varnish, which means that dust and grime doesn't build up on it. As for effects on rubber - I have no data. Brian Doss '88 Weekender, Queequeg |
