Brian, I have had the opportunity to work on both types of conversions, and just this week finished a Tiico 2.0 conversion for a customer. In my opinion, the Subaru conversion, while the parts can be had for less, is going to cause lots of headaches to 'get everything right', while the inline conversion (ala Tiico) is well thought out and complete, mainly because this is the way they are done by VW South Africa, and also previously in the European diesel and turbodiesel vans. Look for a complete post from me later this week detailing my thoughts on the Tiico conversion.
