Chris, You say you had to be adding fluid, the clutch master cylinder looked wet, and now your clutch won't work. This sounds like textbook clutch master cylinder failure to me. This is an easy job any competent machanic can do quickly. My mechanic's rated shop time on a vanagon clutch MC replacement is 45 minutes. The part (quality aftermarket) should be a little under CDN$100. I wouldn't even consider internal clutch work at this point, since it's obvious you have a hydraulic system leak. If you *do* have other problems with your clutch, the odds are strongly that it is entirely unrelated. Don't let anyone work on your clutch before you have the MC checked out (and almost certainly replaced)!. Good luck!
