Westy's & Midas

About 7 years ago I got a catalytic converter (OK, it's not a muffler, but it's close) at Midas for my '83 Westy. It was considerably cheaper than a new one at the VW dealer. However, Midas would not cover it with its usual warrantee, as they considered it non-standard. They did a poor job of installing it. I have had to re-bolt it onto the muffler several times myself, as they did such a poor job, and they refused to fix it when I first took it back to them within a couple of weeks after the installation. The employees and management at the shop were very surly and uncooperative. The price was good, but everything else about it sucked.
