Subject: Help in SoCal asap!!!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi, My '84 Westy died on a 405 off ramp, just went dead, turn the key and nada! Still had some juice to run hazards etc, but no starting action whatsoever. The alternator light had come on but went out when I got the beast up to speed (about 50 - 60) but would come back on when I slowed down. The kicker is i had driven about 500 miles without incident from Oakland and was only about 20 miles from my final destination of Torrance. So anybody in the SoCal area around about Torrance know a good VW mechanic? Also any ideas on my problem? I was running the fridge off the battery while I was driving. I just bought this van and this is the first time I had tried running the fridge. TIA! Juli
