Subject: a/c Ducts Recall Part Number
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I looked up the recall for the a/c ducts in my recall book at work. It lists certain Vanagons between 86 and 91 are included in this recall.

The best thing to do is to call your local VW Dealer and ask one of the VW service writers to run your VIN to verify whether it is open for your vehicle. Have your VIN handy. IF they do not satisfy your request, then ask the service manager.

The recall is 'SU'. It was originally released in February of 1994, but will remain open for 10 years from then. The P/N is 200 298 001 and does list for under $10. The kit (designated by the '98' in the P/N) consists of 2 steel plates and 4 washers. As previously mentioned on the list, these could be made, but they are much cheaper to buy from VW.

If you have any problems with the running of your VIN through the VW Dealer, I would be happy to do it. Just pmail your VIN to me and wait a couple of days for me to run it.
