You cannot buy an exhaust system for an aircooled Vanagon that you cannot hear at all. The closest will be the stock setup for this year, which runs $299.95, plus $100 more for the catalytic (or about $30 if you want a bypass pipe instead). Second closest (and actually very close) will be the system sold in the U.S. as a stock '72-74 system (but sold in Europe thru '83). This system does not allow the use of a catalytic converter or EGR valve. Runs $119.95 for non-stainless, or $189.95 for stainless. Both systems will be notably quieter than a header/extractor system like you have now, and will also outlast it by a huge margin. No other system besides these two will be notably quieter than what you have now.
