Of course not... thermostats are just like the thermostat in your home fridge or heater for that matter... they're meant to be turned up and down..... why would you want to leave it on 0 when the fridge can barely keep up with a really not day turned to max???

I can get my fridge to light if I preheat it on 12V. Once lit I > habe the following problem: after hours of warming up with the > thermostat at 0, the flame goes out every time I turn up the thermo? > Any ideas.

When a fridge lights, but won't stay lit the thermocouple would be suspect... but if it goes out just when you turn the thermostat up then perhaps the thermostat is implicated....

On the other hand if it only goes out when you turn it up the problem could be with the fuel / air mixture... perhaps not enought air (have you cleaned the air vent tubes and the burner box?) .... or perhaps a sputttering/clogged fuel jet.... have you taken it out and tried to blow it out????... but don't stick a pin in there!

Of course, you could also try to find a good Dometic repair shop too.

Good Luck, Bill
