Dear Robert,

I had the same thing happen to me -- there is supposed to be a stock VW rubber gasket that seals the antenna from water being blown in from the front. This part isn't mentioned in Bentley Iin fact, I had no idea there was one) So I went to a junkyard to inspect some older Vanagons and sure enought I found one on the first try -- sales guy at the front desk gave it to me for free.
