Well,
As I understand it running it on 12 volt or 120 volts first starts the air
flow... in the intake and out the exhaust pipe... theory being that the
small flame will not get the flow going by itself in a cold fridge vent
system and suffocate due to lack of oxygen.... same reason some recommend
pumping the air pump 20 or more times before actual ignition... gets the
burner box filled with oxygen and gets it moving....
