Mark,

I had a brand new exhaust system coated, including a new catalytic converter. I also installed a new Stebro stainless muffler, but didn't have this coated. As far as heat reduction in the engine area, I haven't really checked this out yet. Perhaps a side by side comparison with another Vanagon would be the way to do this.
