The earlier DU trannys had a 7 tooth pinion gear..the later ABD or ACW
ones have a 6 tooth pinion...the 6 teeth are larger but wear out quicker
than the earlier 7 tooth stuff....its only a wear issue and not a
stronger issue from what I see.
