A serious option for a repower would be the flat-four 2.4 Previa (export name for Estima) unit, a straight-four 16V DOHC unit which lies on its side. The 2.2 turbodiesel 3CT engine, an SOHC 8-valve design with belt-driven cam, would be just the berries too...the Estima diesel I drove accelerated strongly in 4th up a hill 2.0 diesel Coronas struggle up in 3rd, and went on quickly to 160kmh (100mph) with plenty still in hand. Yes, pushing that heavy big body. Maybe I should have looked at a 2.2 turbodeisel instead of the SVX? Ah well, too late now!
