Axel sent this amusing summary:

We wanted to find a dealer in Germany that would like to be the one to send us parts in the USA. Do you know of a German Volkswagen dealer that likes to send parts in the mail and to give a discount?
my opinion:
the VW-dealer are all criminals!
The T3 does not exist anymore in the opinion of this guys.
Nobody can understand the price policy of VW. The dealers have hard regulations regarding prices and discounts. And what I know is, that official dealers have not the rights to deliver to foreign countries.

"official dealers have not the rights to deliver to foreign countries" -- bumber

For the parts which are more or less standard in all T3 or other VW-Cars of course we have a lot of second sources, also for refreshed parts like motors, gearboxes etc.
But if it comes to Syncros, there are no realy second sources avaible. A lot of parts are special made in Austria with exclusiv rights for VW (for instance the arches). That means the answer is much depending of this what you realy need in any moment.
And please never expect a well considered answer if you ask any question to any VW-dealer regardin a Syncro. Without ETKA you are totally helpless, also in Germany. The only way is to order the part-no. and hopefully you will get the right part.
I think the situation regarding the Syncro is much more crazy than you are willy to believe.

_______________________________________________

Derek Drew New York, NY

CEO & Co-Founder

http://www.ConsumerSearch.com/

80 South Street, 2nd Floor

New York, NY 10038

derekdrew@rcn.com

212-580-6486

Alternate numbers for the industrious phone caller that wants to try every avenue: 917-848-6425 (cell); 202-966-7907 (Work), 212-580-4459 (Home), 202-966-0938 (Home), 978-359-8533 (fax [efax]), 212-269-3428 (Seaport office), 212-269-3188 (Seaport main number).
|
