Jason,
I have an 85 GL that fell victim to the "Vanagon Syndrome" (bucking). I
fixed mine with the Cap from Radio Shack and "knock on wood", our Van is
buckless since... It is painfully obvious (especially if you work in the
electronics industry as I do) that you have to be PERFECT with the
modification otherwise you can wreck the AFM and see no resultant fix or
even, a worse condition than just bucking. It is not hard to do but
precision is key. I looked in the archives for the directions on the fix
and compared several postings from different times to make sure the
instructions were correct. Good luck.
