My 85 GL had the same problem, but it seemed to only happen when it was over 90 degrees out. Mysterioulsy, the problem went away without changing any parts, it used to happen almost every day when it was that hot. I would just push the van and pop the clutch and go on my merry way. Also, I think the problem went away because I petted the dash alot and said "c'mon bessie, it's ok, lets go!" Just give your van lots o love and hopefully your problem will disappear like mine did.
