Steve, I too chose the Trasko, but for two different reasons. First, I wouldn't use toilet paper in anything I put on my car, and second, the Trasko was a joint development with Subaru, and, frankly, I trust the Japanese engineers and their opinions. Their site sucks, but their filter doesn't. Their US distributor put it up, and it needs some work. http://trasko-usa.com

The paper refill is definitely not TP, and their claims to its uniqueness, particularly with bits not flaking off, sold me. The residual acids and crap used in institutional TP manufacture combined with virtually no quality control of the product made this an easy choice.

I'll be running dino oil for the first 3000 miles in my new MG and Vanagon engines for break in purposes, and then switch to Red Line 20w-50 motor oil with testing every 10,000 miles or so. At the price of Red Line ($9.00/qt by the case with shipping) I don't want to change it any more than necessary.

I like Red Line due to its higher quality synthetic turbine oil base stock, and I believe it is superior to Mobil 1 in its lubrication properties. My long term success with their gear oils in the MG and Vanagon has made me a real fan.

Someone sent in a link to great a site with comments about Red Line oils vs. other products a while back. I printed it out but didn't bookmark it, can that person send it again?
