My 72 BMW Bavaria was like this. I liked it and used this feature on occasion. However, well meaning people frequently told me my lights were on ("I left them on deilberately, thanks.") or would tell me my lights were busted ("No, they are designed that way."). Most people thought that was a great and useful feature after explaining thow they work.

I wired my park lights to illuminate in addition to those in the turn signal markers. The above setup would be a cool addition if I could figure out how to wire it.
