I use my 89 syncro westy as a daily driver as I have for every van I've ever owned (61 splittie, 76 loaf, 86 vanagon gl, 88 wolfie). They have all had their problems from time to time, but have been plenty reliable for me. To be honest though, I've never owned one with over 100K on the clock. Except the 76... what a sweetheart that one was. So was the wolfie... sounds like a deal to me.

Good luck. Mick Kalber
