I am fanatical about changing oil. So far I've gotten 320k on a jeep, and 270k on the 626. The thing and the camper both came with ruined motors, but since the swap last year the westy has 60k miles with no problems.

I run Mobil One in all the air cooled VWs I've owned and never had an oil problem. The jeep is now getting dino oil since it's leaking too bad and the 4.0l takes 6 quarts. I used to run Mobil one from the day I bought it, and am happy to report that in 10 years the only thing the engine needs is a new rear main seal and a valve cover gasket. The Mazda 626 ran it for 12 years and the motor was the only part on the car that was as good as new. Never "stretch" the oil change interval and the motor will be the last of your worries.

Chris
