Subject: westy rearview mirror

My westy rear view mirror has a big chuck of plastic missing from the back side...now the plastic border that goes around the mirror has a split and I can raise part of it off the mirror. Will crazy glue work to make the border tight around the mirror again? If not, do I need to replace the whole rear view mirror? I wasn't sure where you even unsrew the mirror off...I suspect buying the whole mirror is expensive and would rather fix inexpensively...any advice?
