Subject: AC Ducting Support
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I had my AC duct fall from the ceiling last year when I hit a bump on the interstate. Scared the hell out of me. I installed aluminum straps to keep it up there, then learned later VW has a fix out. Recently the duct fell again. Metal fatigue. I guess the aluminum alloy int the straps was not good. With the recent discussion on the list, it prompted me to contact my local VW dealer about it. For me it's a PITA to deal with the Dealership.

I just called CamelBack and the parts for the fix are coming. Two support plates and hardware. Total cost $6.00. That sure beats cost the time I spent building the straps in the first place. Will post as to how the re-installation goes.

John Rodgers 88GL Driver.
