If you've never cleaned or replaced the tank... running out of gas can suck up all the gunk in the bottom of the tank... could clog up your fuel filter or the strainer at the fuel pump.

  With my gas tank leak as yet unfixed, I have been running my tank on the low side. If I accidentally run out of gas will it cause any damage?
