My commute is 60 miles each way - 120 miles per day. About once or twice a week I drive my 87 Vanagon to work; I wish I could drive it every day but fuel prices and 20mpg make this prohibitive. I am fixing up our 82 Vanagon Diesel for every day commuting this winter. Right now it's getting the o-rings in the injector pump replaced, and getting a new heater cable. Also we're hooking up the fog lights and my family thinks I ought to put a CD player in it. I love driving the Vanagons in commute traffic because I can see; in my small car I feel overwhelmed by the big trucks and big SUVs. I figure I might have a better chance of survival in my vans. BTW, my Diesel is from Pennsylvania by way of Maine; made it all the way to California with its PO.

Donna, two Vanagons (my Diesel needs a name!)
