What viscosity oil are you using, this makes a big difference. Typical pressure for these engines is around 10 psi/1000 rpm. Slightly less when hot.

For those of you with an air cooled vanagon, if you have an oil pressure gauge, what is your PSI reading after motor is fully warmed up---at idle?

Just curious.....mine seems to be around 10 psi, and that seems low to me.
