I installed a 1987 Jetta tachometer in my 1984 Westfalia's instrument cluster - took about 2h to physically install it as there is some plastic trimming to do and another hour to wire it in. Now I have a tachometer that reads 7000 RPM instead of 6000 RPM like most Vanagon tachs do - which is pretty good considering I have a Jetta engine in the back of it!
