If greasing the CV's that often is necessary to keep it from clunking, you are most likely not using the correct grease. You should get a lot more miles/time out of them before they need grease. Also, you should be able to run them through normal mileage servicing and never hear any clunking in between. Sounds to me like you have something going on that is not right.

John Rodgers 88GL Driver with over a year since cleaning and greasing on older CVs and never a clunk since.
