How about an Audi 5000 oil cooler system? Basically it is a sandwhich that goes between the filter and filter housing that is therostatically controlled so you are not cooling cold oil. Seen some we side that did this on a T2 - looked like a nice and cheap solution as there are a lot of dead 5000s out there.
