Funny stuff, but I think 30hp is a little weak for a Vanagon :) I looked under the "applications" page on the car and saw that the company that provided the generator is Unique Mobility, a company here in Colorado. I used to work for an IT outsourcing company that had them as a client. They do some really neat stuff. They made a Hummer with a 100hp motor on each wheel. Freaky.
